June 9, 2019 Pentecost Sunday Special Music: Piano Duet by Mary Kay O'Neill and Michelle Trunk Sermon: Pentecost: This Changes Everything - Pastor Emily Martin Congratulations to our 2019 Graduates To Donate: http://cambridgelutheran.org/donate
This Sunday, June 9, is Pentecost Sunday. Wear red. In importance, Pentecost is on the same level as Christmas or Easter. Why? Because it is the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the church. The Spirit is the means through which God works among us today. Pentecost is on the 50th day of Easter when we celebrate (and receive anew) the Holy Spirit in our midst. Christ has not left his people but is among them and literally in them. The power of the Spirit is how Christ changes lives and our world. Why red? Red symbolizes the joy and fire of the Holy Ghost. :) Pastor Emily is preaching all services. The message is Pentecost: This Changes Everything. There is communion (Christ coming to us in bread and wine) at all services. At 8:30 Festival, we recognize and pray for our 2019 high school graduates along with the beginning of the summer special music series. At Horizon, there is heavier dose of worship music with some of the most moving, recent worship songs focusing on the Holy Spirit. Also, Path to Home begins this Sunday. Check out the link below for available or sign up on Sunday at the Hospitality Sign-Up Tables. https://tinyurl.com/CLCPathToHome Blessings, Pastor Andy

SUNDAY, JUNE 2 - 8:30, 9:00 & 10:15 Friends, The message this Sunday is on the bible itself. Many of us know bible stories. Do we know the story of the bible? How it came to be? If someone challenged your beliefs by challenging the legitimacy of the bible, would you have a response? On June 2, Ascension Sunday, we begin a new series, "The Bible for Grown-Ups." It will explore these questions and more. Pastor Andy will be preaching at all services, "Last Things First." During June, two sessions of KidZone continue, dismissed during all services. Worship times: Festiva/Traditional at 8:30. Horizon/Contemporary @ 9:00 & 10:15. During summer, there are lots of opportunities to serve. Stop by the Sign-Up Tables to sign up for the various Hospitality Roles or to sign-up for Path to Home, our ministry to the homeless, June 9-16. There is currently opportunity to serve in set-up on June 9, overnight and evening hosts and food donations. And you can also sign up online at: https://tinyurl.com/CLCPathToHome Lets make a difference in the lives of people with few other options. Blessings, Pastor Andy

SUMMER KIDZONE! KidZone still runs through the summer months for all worship services for age 3 - Grade 3. DONN FREDLUND We regret to share news of the death of Donn Fredlund. Donn was a life-long active participant in the church in which he was baptized and raised, Cambridge Lutheran. He anchored the choir for five decades and as recently as a few weeks ago, he sang in a duet at the funeral for Gerald Galbrecht. In his 50 years in the Sanctuary Choir, he never once missed a rehearsal. He only missed one performance. That is the definition of commitment to serving In his last days at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and then The Estates, Rush City, the pastors visited with him often. Donn said, "I'm ready." Our thoughts and prayers with Donn's extended family. He will be missed by friends, family and co-workers. Donn worked as a realtor right up until a few weeks before he died. There will be a graveside service in the cemetery. God, in Christ's rising from the dead, you conquered death and opened the gates to everlasting life. Renew our trust in you that by the power of your love we shall one day be brought together again with all your saints. Amen. ELW p. 285
